The Most Legendary Horror Movie Characters Of All Time

Every horror movie is filled with roles like ghost that feeds on people's innermost fears, a chainsaw wielding maniac, or a typical psycho killer, possessed children or worse possessed mothers and fighting against them are brave noble people who might have caused themselves the trouble (Fun fact : these people don't die no matter who many times they get severely injured ) . So today I'm going to be talking about some of these iconic characters. (Sorry if I missed some) To be honest some of the villain characters look more gross than scary. By the way I'm sorry for putting in photos of the characters for you to get traumatized.  

PENNYWISE - IT CHAPTER I, IT CHAPTER II

Ok! we're starting off strong or rather creepy? Anyways, From when it was released in 2017 till now, this movie's beloved and legendary character Pennywise is an entity which the group of victims refer to as 'it'. Awakening once every 27 years, this entity feeds on the children in Derry, before resuming hibernation. It uses sewer pipes to move about the town. Pennywise can also shapeshift. Stephen King has created many creepy characters but it seems like none of those characters can exceed Pennywise's fame and glory. We all know that Pennywise has pure intentions, purely EVIL that is.

THE PALE MAN - THE PAN'S LABYRINTH

    Released in 2006, Pan's Labyrinth in Spanish is called  'El Laborinto Del Fauno'  meaning 'Labyrinth Of The Faun'. Guillermo del Toro showcases his amazing skills through this movie as he directed and co-produced this movie. This is a story of a girl named Ofelia whose mother is pregnant and very sick. Attempting to save her sick mother, Ofelia has to follow the tasks given in the book that a faun gave her. In the second task she has to retrieve a dagger  from The Pale Man's lair but the Pale Man is a child eating monster. This creature doesn't have eyes on his face but in his palms.

 

GHOSTFACE - THE SCREAM FRANCHISE

Ghostface is the main antagonist of the Scream franchise. He is voiced by Roger L. Jackson in all the films. Despite the fact that different characters portray ghostface in each film, every ghostface character showcase similar personality traits such as taunting their victims over the telephone or asking the victim a horror movie trivia over the phone and stalking them in almost every movie. Ghostface is definitely  iconic. Go argue with a wall.         

 BABADOOK - THE BABADOOK

Released in 2014, this movie's version of the boogeyman called Babadook or Mister Babadook is a supernatural entity or creature that haunts Amelia and her son Samuel after they read a poem from a pop-up book called Mister Babadook.  Remember : "If it's in a word or if it's in a book, You can't get rid of the Babadook. A rumbling sound, then three sharp knocks, You better run or he'll hold you in his locks. Ba-Ba-Ba-Dook-Dook-Dook. Your closet opens and you're honestly hoping that he won't hear a sound, But that's when you know he's around. So close your eyes and count to ten, better hope you don't wake up again. Cause if it's in a word of it's in a book, You can't get rid of the Babadook. You'll see him if you look" .

CHARLIE GRAHAM - HERIDITARY

  

Charlie Graham is doing her best to get by after her grandmother passes away. And bad things start to happen, as expected in every ghost movie. And she does what we all do when we experience grief, she cuts the head off birds. This actress can terrify us without saying a word or with a click of a tongue. The most terrifying thing about her : She's now a major Tiktok star.

GRACE LE DOMAS - READY OR NOT

Finally, an actual smart victim in a horror movie. After a seemingly normal wedding, Grace discovers that her new family are beholden to a superstition that the midnight of their wedding day, The new member of the family draws a card from a puzzle box. Grace draws a card that says 'Hide And Seek'. After a few minutes of playing, Grace witnesses one of the family members mistaking a maid for Grace and shooting her. Terrified, she realizes that the family is hunting her. But Grace doesn't give up. She punches children, withstands a bullet through her hand, and smashes a boiling pot of tea on someone's head. As the saying goes, She's beauty, She's Grace and she smashes a boiling pot of tea on someone's face.

ROSEMARY WOODHOUSE - ROSEMARY'S BABY

        Ah, of course we can't forget Rosemary! She's just like Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. But this story is a little different with Rosemary, instead of the lord, her the child is the spawn of the Satan.

JACK TORRANCE - THE SHINING

SIDNEY PRESSCOTT - THE SCREAM FRANCHISE

   We  can't forget  the Scream Queen! Played by Neve Campbell, Sidney Presscott is one of the very few Horror Movie protagonists who seem to actually use their brain. In Scream 1,2,3 and 4, the story follows her getting constantly targetted by the masked killer, Ghostface.

GALE WEATHERS - THE SCREAM FRANCHISE

      Played by Courtney Cox, Gale Weathers is another beloved character of the Scream franchise.

      Fun fact : Gale Weathers was the only character that appeared in all the films so far. We should      give her credit for surviving Ghostface for so long.  

ED WARREN AND  LORRAINE WARREN - THE CONJURING 1, THE CONJURING 2 AND                                                                                  ANNABELLE COMES HOME

     All right, their movies might not be that scary but they're still kind of iconic in a way. The actors portrayed the Warrens perfectly. Almost all the movies are based on actual cases the real Warrens had investigated.  The real Warrens also run a museum called Occult museum beside their paranormal investigating career. The museum showcases many haunted artifacts from around the world, most of the artifacts are from their investigations. As of now, the museum is run by Judy Warren. 

SADAKO - THE RING

     Played by Rie Inō, Sadako is the definition of creepy.  The Japanese version is wayyy more terrifying compared to the English remake especially because of the fact that we don't see a close up of Sadako's face but we only see a close up shot of her eye which is enough to make us turn off  the TV.

M3GAN - M3GAN

      As cute as her outfits are, she isn't . She's got a point, She's an icon, She's a legend and She is the moment. But she is not cute. All i can say is that she's a living nightmare but that statement is not entirely true because she's a robot and robots are not alive. Right?
